However, before you go running to the phone and calling the AG's office, don't bother!
I've already called them because I was enraged at what the AIB (Auto Insurance Bureau) was allowing this change; but was informed they're rating motorcycles as they would commercial autos, and have taken depreciation into consideration.
Many of you depending on which carrier your policy is with, will see upon your next renewal the "MRSP" cost new being used on the policy as a rating factor.
What I'm told will be the difference on the motorcycle policy now is that, even though the "cost new" will be shown on the declarations page somewhere, the carriers will be using a "depreciation" factor when actually calculating the rates for the comprehensive and collision.
What is the agreement between Plymouth Rock and the Massachusetts Attorney General with regard to motorcycles?
Plymouth Rock, along with other Massachusetts insurance carriers, was found to have incorrectly calculated motorcycle insurance rates for physical damage coverage on some policies over a period of years.
The settlement means that both parties have agreed to a solution that will ensure that Plymouth Rock policyholders who were inadvertently overcharged receive refunds of their overpayments.

We have been a client of Lister Insurance for many years.
Betsy goes out of her way to ensure that our property coverage gives us the proper protections.
In the event that a claim is required she is ready to jump into action to defend our position.
Betsy has helped me weather getting three kids driving and number four on the way.
She and her staff have kept my need for cost reductions at the forefront of our business together, especially now when three of my four are also in college.
When I was injured in a head on collision a few years ago, Betsy was quick to get the claims in place and kept tabs on me as I dealt with the recovery and the other guys agents.
It's true though, most folks hate to pay for insurance because they're not buying something tangible, like a car, or a piece of clothing, or furniture; That.
When purchasing coverages, work with YOUR agent and try to look at your whole picture; home, autos, business, IRA's, bank accounts, retirement etc. if possible figure out what you've got to lose if someone gets a judgment against you; and purchase your insurance coverage limits accordingly.
Purchase as much liability as you can afford, and as much as the law will allow is a good concept; but not one that's always feasible.
