The agency was founded at the turn of the century in 1903 by Ezra A. Stevens in the city of Malden.
To accommodate the agency's expansion, E. A. Stevens Company Inc was incorporated in 1970, and established the Middleton branch in 1987.
The agency was acquired by Thomas P. Cares, Jr, CIC, President and Kelly Clifford Watrous, CPCU, CIC, Vice President with the mission of striving to offer you quality insurance coverage, a high level of professional service, and a long-term relationship.

He graduated from Salem State College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics.
After graduation, he worked in the Mutual Fund industry for a few years before entering the insurance industry.
He is a licensed, independent insurance agent with 26 years of experience and currently holds a Certified Insurance Counselor designation.
Tom started in sales at E.A. Stevens selling both personal and commercial insurance and now as one of the owners, he not only sells but changes the light bulbs!
