Founded in 1949, Dwight Rudd Insurance is an independent, privately held, boutique insurance brokerage specializing in the unique risk management needs of accomplished families and successful businesses. Philip Ladd has owned the agency since 1986, when he purchased the firm from his father, and has grown the organization nearly tenfold since.
With a strong desire for internal perpetuation, and an even greater focus on the agency's core competencies, Philip named Barbara Targum and Randy Schneider as Managing Partners in January of 2016 with full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the business. At the same time, Philip assumed the role of Chairman, allowing him to focus on both his client relationships and further developing Barbara and Randy for their ultimate ownership of the firm.
Equipped to serve clients in all 50 states, we are particularly well suited to addressing the specialized risk management needs of successful individuals & families, as well as a range of businesses.

Life has changed but your insurance likely has not.
And equally as likely, your insurance agent hasn't taken the time to help you adjust your program as these events have unfolded.
Each of these events introduces a new and different risk into your life and unless properly addressed could put your hard earned assets in jeopardy.

Every business-from the smallest start-up to a multi-national corporation-should consider insurance to mitigate the risk of financial loss.
Some types of insurance are required by law, other types are required by contract, and some types simply make good business sense.
We will help you evaluate the risks that you and your business face, and craft a customized insurance program that will grow and evolve as you do.
My employees use their own vehicles while on company business.
Sometimes they rent vehicles while travelling for work.

Our clients often find us through another trusted advisor.
We work in a team environment, but our clients' primary point of contact is always with the principal who provided the initial consult.
This approach is not only in concert with our clients' other advisory relationships, but is also a welcome break from most insurance brokers who tend to favor a call center approach, or delegation, after the initial engagement.
In conjunction with our client's advisory team, we ask questions to analyze risk tolerance and susceptibly to loss.

Celebrating our differences is important to us.
We are passionate about working towards a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for our colleagues, clients, business partners, and our larger community.
The time is now.
In the wake of the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor-and countless others-involving law enforcement, we are committed to making actionable change supporting equality and justice for all marginalized peoples.
Recognizing and utilizing our place of privilege we intend to do everything in our power to foster respect, community, and understanding, with the knowledge that these endeavors are only the beginning.
