If you grant a leave of absence, or furlough, for part of your staff (but still have active employees enrolled on the Plan) carriers will allow the furloughed employees to continue coverage for up to 3 months, or 90 days. However, the premium for these employees will still need to be paid under the current contract arrangement.
Ifyou have made the decision to reduce employees hours, or lay-off employees (but still have active employees enrolled in the health insurance) you are required to offer: COBRA (business of 20 or more employees), or State Continuation (business with fewer than 20 employees).
