At Jeff Carbone Insurance Agency we take pride in helping our customers understand exactly what they're buying.
To help you get a better understanding of the Massachusetts Auto Policy we've provided an explanation of each section below.
The first four sections are mandatory while the other eight are optional coverages.
Motorcycles are insured just as you would an automobile and most all of the aspects and sections of the Massachusetts Auto Policy apply.
The only major difference is in the section covering Personal Injury Protection (PIP).
The driver and passengers, while riding a motorcycle, are not covered by PIP.
However, the owner of the motorcycle must purchase this coverage to protect other people who may be injured by the motorcycle.
The Massachusetts Rider Education Program (MREP) administratively oversees and supports a network of eight motorcycle safety schools that offer Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) approved courses.
Just about any type of boat with a motor that uses state waterways must be registered with the Massachusetts Environmental Police Registration and Titling Bureau.
Titling is mandatory for any boat that uses an engine and is 14 feet or longer.
Unlike with motor vehicles, insuring your boat is optional in Massachusetts it is recommended that no matter the size or value, you should insure your watercraft.
All sizes of boats and other watercraft like jet-skis, should have adequate coverage in case of loss.
A Recreational Vehicle (RV) or Motor home is any motor vehicle originally designed or permanently altered as living quarters (including cooking, dining, plumbing or refrigeration facilities), and which is used exclusively for human habitation or camping purposes.
This also includes pick-up trucks used solely to transport a camper body or other similar living quarters.
A motor vehicle designed primarily to transport property which has been temporarily altered or equipped for human habitation is NOT considered a motor home.
