Century Mutual was formed in 1894 as Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association- Guilford Branch. In 1994 it changed its name to Century Mutual Insurance Company. The company was a county mutual that wrote in six counties: Guilford, Randolph, Davidson, Forsyth, Rockingham and Caswell.
