Mike Meeker-State Farm Insurance Agent

I was born and raised in Otsego County and graduated from Unatego Central School. Just like many others who grew up in this area, I moved away in search of better career opportunities that I felt weren't provided in this area. I found myself working in the building industry. First in Schenectady County then Saratoga County. I worked my way into Contractor Sale at a much younger age than my colleagues.

While doing this there were two things I learned; how important building relationships was and providing excellent customer service without being asked. I ultimately realized that doing the right thing in today's workplace is now more important than ever. I soon found myself outgrowing the building industry and really striving for more. Around that same time, I was introduced to the State Farm Agency Opportunity.

I believed that being a State Farm Agent meant; an employee of an "insurance giant", but just like you I misunderstood State Farm in general. The reality is I would be a Small Business Owner that would determine my own success with the help of State Farm behind me.
