Unlike competitors in the risk management and loss prevention arena, FSBIT's focus is reflected in the qualifications and experience of its staff and board of directors. This school district experience ensures that products and services are meaningful, cost effective, and on target for meeting district needs. FSBIT's Risk Management team offers a coordinated effort to protect member districts' assets, both human and financial, from all types of risk.

This effort begins with helping member school districts identify and analyze the risks to which the district may be exposed. Florida School Boards Insurance Trust (FSBIT) does not endorse any organization that can be accessed through links on the FSBIT website. Services
The Florida School Boards Association established the Florida School Boards Insurance Trust (FSBIT) in 1981 to self-insure the property, casualty, and worker's compensation exposures of member districts.
Program administration is the responsibility of the Trust's Risk Management Department.
The Florida School Boards Insurance Trust was created as a direct response to the difficulties and expense school districts face in acquiring insurance protection, handling claims, training staff, and managing loss control at a reasonable and affordable cost.
To assist the Florida School Boards Insurance Trust and their members in saving lives, limbs, property and claims costs in order to improve our members' well-being, image, resources and finances.
To provide safety, health and risk management consultation, evaluation, training, guidance and claims control to our members.
Prepare and provide communication such as letters, reports, presentations, memos and phone calls on the members' current physical condition, documentation, history, future condition and plans that may have an effect on the members' current and future loss potential to assist the Trust's leadership in making good business decisions.
All FSBIT employees are committed to serving member districts in ways that both save resources and protect school district staff and physical assets.
This shared belief that "every dollar saved through loss prevention or efficient claims processing is a dollar returned to the schools" has helped to turn that commitment into professional practices completed by dedicated staff.
David has been working with Florida School Boards Insurance Trust for the past 10 years as a Member District Risk Manager.
When needed, FSBIT can also provide insurance defense counsel with significant school district experience.
