Her career began when she was in the Youth Apprenticeship program at Northern Nash and started working at Boddie-Noell Enterprises. From there in 2002, she worked onsite with their risk management company where her career in insurance began as a Worker's Compensation Adjuster. She eventually became a licensed insurance agent and in 2006 began working for a local independent insurance agency as a life and health agent.
