I am the son of a farmer and an outside the home working mother. Our farm was 7 miles outside of Warrensburg MO. I attended first grade through college graduation on the campus of Central Missouri State College which is now called the University of Central Missouri. I was a four-year letterman in football and baseball, recipient of the Vernon Kennedy Award for the outstanding student/athlete.
I was selected to receive the Charno Award for outstanding scholarship, leadership, character, and service. My father always told my brother and me boys you don't want to be a farmer. I took his guidance and after working in management for 8 years for Business Men's Assurance Company. I started my State Farm agency in 1979. Guess I didn't get completely away from the "FARM".
My wife Linda and I have been married for 47 years. We have three children and two precious granddaughters. I am past president of the UCM Alumni Board and, I am active in our church teaching middle and high school students. I became a State Farm agent because I wanted to help people with their insurance needs and to be part of the community.
