In 1950, our agency's namesake - Ronel J. Dubois - began his insurance career as an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Ronel eventually joined Mapes Insurance Agency on the 2nd floor of the old Springvale National Bank building (now home to Key Bank). After a few short years, Ronel bought half interest in the agency, and in 1955, purchased the entire agency from Mr. Mapes.
By 1968, Ronel's son, Robert W. Dubois, joined the agency. Father and son later relocated the office to its current location in the center of Sanford at 860 Main Street. Robert went on to purchase the agency from his father in 1980, after twelve years of growing the business together. In 2003, Robert's daughter Michele Dubois joined the business, following the completion of her studies at Ithaca College (NY) and Simmons College (Boston), where she earned a B.A. and M.A., respectively.
Having worked for a New Hampshire-based insurance agency from 1992 to 1998, Michele was eager to return to the business of insurance.

Other Structures - Provides coverage for detached structures or out buildings such as a garage, shed, or barn.
Personal Property - Covers your personal belongings and contents of your home (clothes, furniture, electronics, etc.)
Loss of Use - Pays for additional living expenses above and beyond your typical living expenses, in the event you are temporarily displaced from your home due to a covered loss.
