Services
The mission of Alaska Public Entity Insurance is to provide our members with stable, affordable insurance, broad insurance coverage, and effective risk management services to ensure that maximum funds are available for local government and education programs.
APEI is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors.
At least eight directors represent APEI members, with the goal of having the APEI board reflect the geographic and population distribution of APEI's public entity members.
Two of the board seats may be filled by additional member representatives, or may be filled by others who have particular expertise that can benefit the pool.
APEI provides loss control assistance to its members.
Each member receives copies of the APEI Loss Control Manual, which is updated annually.
Members that perform loss control activities, such as holding regular safety meetings, inspecting buildings, attending employee training programs, or taking courses through the TargetSolutions or SafeSchools online training program, earn credits that reduce insurance premiums.
Loss Control Manual - The Loss Control Manual was created to aid our members in maintaining safe and healthful workplaces which helps reduce losses and lowers insurance costs.
Below are the scheduled training opportunities for the 90 minute training session.

Timely notice to APEI of any possible claim is critical to efficient claims management and resolution.
Both the Employee and the Employer's Report of Occupational Injury or Illness must be filled out and sent to APEI.
Prompt reporting protects your insurance rights and ensures that you, your employee, or your claimant are paid in a timely manner.
