Jay Short Insurance has been serving Durango since 1986. We are full time Health Insurance Brokers specializing in MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTS, Groups and Individuals. Our product offerings include Health Insurance, Term Life, Long Term Care, MEDICARE SUPPLEMENTS, Dental and Vision. Being "Brokers" means that we represent lots of companies and are able to shop the market and get our clients into the best policy options.
We are certified through Connect for Health Colorado and were able to enroll hundreds of clients into the new Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant plans, including getting people all set up to receive subsidies (income based).
With ACA in full swing, health insurance has changed, and we are happy to review what the new policies look like as well as go over when you may be eligible to purchase a plan (the good ol' days of being able to buy individual plans anytime during the year are gone, we have to have special 'Life Changing Events').You can still buy a new individual plan if you have a 'Life Change Event' which include loosing your job with benefits, getting married, having a baby, moving to Colorado, and more.
