Chip Millard, Insurance & Investment Services
Chip Millard is an independent insurance broker helping individuals, families and businesses. That may mean explaining how Medicare works and recommending supplemental insurance for someone turning 65, helping a family choose and purchase health insurance, or helping a business choose the most cost-efficient employee benefits (health, dental, vision, disability, life) for employees.

It may also mean designing a life or disability insurance policy for those "what if" situations life can throw at us. Chip specializes in helping businesses with 1-99 employees choose health, dental and other employee benefits, educating and enrolling employees, and administration. Buy your own health insurance? The market is a confusing mess! Chip can help; by finding the best plan, enrolling you on the Marketplace or off, and explaining how it all works.

Turning 65? Need to understand how Medicare works? Chip can explain in plain speak, then research and recommend Medicare Supplement, Part D Rx, and Medicare Advantage plans and explain the details.
Services
Since 1999 (21 years!)
I have been helping individuals, families and businesses in the Triangle and all over North Carolina understand and choose insurance products.
People in the community know me as someone who understands a very complicated part of our lives (the details of needed insurance services), and can explain in easy, understandable terms the choices available, and the most "cost-efficient" plan for each situation.
It is rewarding work.
The best part of my occupation is visiting with great people all day! (in person, over the phone, Zoom, etc.).
The most important benefit of a dental insurance plan is the "annual benefit maximum" which is the most an insurer will pay toward your dental costs in a year.
After the annual benefit maximum is met, you are paying for all dental costs until the year is up.
A higher annual benefit maximum signals a more benefit-rich plan.
Insurance companies decide how each dental service is covered in their plan.
Look carefully at Endodontics (having a root canal).
Most insurers place Endodontics in the Major services category, but others place Endodontics in the Basic services category, ensuring less cost for you!
If you do not have access to vision insurance through your employer, no worries!
You can choose your own vision insurance plan, And insurance companies have built their individual vision insurance plans with the same benefits and networks as vision insurance offered through work.
A yearly eye exam with an optometrist not only gauges your eyes' health, but also helps look for signs of other conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and other conditions.
And since most health insurance plans no longer cover annual eye exams, vision insurance can help you cover the cost.
We help businesses and non-profits with 1-99 employees research, choose and implement employee benefits.
Working as an independent broker with all the available plans, we can objectively recommend the best choices for each employer.
We then work throughout the year with the group in providing benefit booklets, education, assisting with adding and removing employees from the plans, and COBRA.
And helping at any time with advice and problem-solving.
As you are considering offering employee insurance benefits at your workplace, or comparing your current benefits package to what we might offer as an alternative, keep in mind the difference between these two terms; "employer-paid" or "voluntary."
Why do you offer employee benefits at your workplace?
The answer should never be "We are supposed to, right?"
The most successful employee benefits insurance plans solve problems and benefit both the employer and the employees.
A popular Triangle body shop was growing, and could not keep up in hiring experienced employees.
The body shop needed to compete in the local job market.
And the owners, a husband and wife, were tired of watching their individual health insurance plan rise in costs each year.
