The mission of the Washington FAIR Plan is to provide basic property insurance on dwellings and commercial buildings to applicants who have difficulty obtaining a policy in the standard insurance market. Policies are available anywhere in Washington, providing the property is occupied and is reasonably maintained. The Washington FAIR Plan operates under the rules and regulations of Chapter 284-19 of the Washington Administrative Code.
The Washington FAIR Plan is a Joint Reinsurance Association and all of the insurance companies licensed to write property insurance in the state are required to be members. The FAIR Plan does not receive any funding from taxpayers or the State of Washington. Any producer who is licensed to write Property & Casualty insurance in the State of Washington can write with the Washington FAIR Plan.
No additional appointment is needed.

Coverage will become effective once the application is processed, the inspection is completed, the risk is determined to be acceptable by the Washington FAIR Plan and the premium is paid in full to the Washington FAIR Plan.
