Transwestern celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2006! The owners of Smith Boman and Associates, a leading crop insurance agency, started the company after several of its clients asked the agency to develop an agricultural benefit plan for their seasonal workers. The charge? Create a competitive alternative to other plans being offered. Insurance carriers were contacted and educated about the advantages of reinsurance products for new seasonal self-funded plans.

To support the new plan, a network of Mexico health providers was developed. The result? This powerful combination created a highly competitive alternative for seasonal workers that is still a hallmark of Transwestern twenty years later. After developing state of the art agricultural plans, Transwestern has successfully expanded into other types of businesses and industries, as well as municipalities.

Over the years, we have worked hard to earn a reputation for customizing benefit plans to meet individual client needs, unparalleled personalized customer service, and preserving strong relationships with stable and innovative insurance carriers such as Hartford, Mutual of Omaha and Symetra.

Our claims software system is Eldorado's flagship product, called HEALTHpac.
Eldorado is a nationally known provider of benefit administration software, which has been developed over the past 15 years in response to client requests and industry evolution.
Transwestern hosts HEALTHpac on a HP-UX dual RISC processor, containing 2 Gigabytes of RAM, and over 150 Gigabytes of internal storage.

Employee eligibility is maintained and updated monthly by our Customer Service Department.
Our customer service representatives are available to answer questions from employers, employees or providers regarding eligibility and claims status, prescription drugs, and general questions pertaining to their plan of benefits.
