Medicare is a federal health insurance program that was created in the mid-60's to help Americans age 65 or older, and certain disabled persons, to pay for medical care.
The program is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Whatis Medicare A, B, C and D?
Medicare divides all medical care it will cover into four parts: Parts A, B, C, and D. Part A is Hospital Insurance, Part B is Medical Insurance, Part C is Medicare Advantage Plans and Part D is Prescription Drug Coverage.

Prudential Financial Inc. notes that 74% of consumers ages 55 to 65 polled for a recent survey said they are concerned about needing some kind of long term care.

In the Prudential survey, 25% of all consumers admitted that they have no idea what a day in a nursing home costs.

In a welcome step, IRS has announced it will not require reporting the value of employer-sponsored health coverage on employees' Forms W-2 for 2011.
This year's comprehensive health care reform law created a host of new reporting and disclosure requirements for employers, including a mandate to show the value of employer-provided coverage on Forms W-2 starting in 2011.
