Connealy Insurance is a family-owned, industry-leading, independent insurance agency dedicated to providing cost-effective insurance solutions to farmers, ranchers, and families in Nebraska, Iowa & South Dakota. For over 35 years, Dennis and Janis Connealy, fellow farmers and owners of Connealy Insurance have combined their strong insurance background and product knowledge to form partnerships to help their clients manage crop, farm, ranch, commercial, personal, and auto insurance risks.

In 2020, more than 380 million acres of farmland were protected through the Federal Crop Insurance Program and more than 1.1 million policies were issued while protecting over 100 different crops. Just before the end of 2018, the Economic Research Service at the United States Department of Agriculture released a report analyzing data from a 2017 survey of farmers across the country.

This report - titled "America's Diverse Family Farms" - presents the facts behind farming in America. Ninety-eight percent of U.S. farms are family farms, and they account for 87 percent of farm production.
Services
Dennis and Janis Connealy started in the insurance business 35 years ago by offering area farmers products that met a farmer's needs, from a farmer's point of view.
The original agency name was Connealy Brothers Crop Insurance or CBCI.
Our first crop supper was in March of 1985 in Wheeler's back room.
In March of 1986, we moved into an office in the basement of the old Burt County State Bank Building.
We moved into our current office in 1991.
What started as a part-time crop insurance business done at the kitchen table has grown into four full-time agents and two sub-agents providing additional lines of insurance to further meet the needs of their customers.
Crop insurance in America can trace it roots all the way back to 1880, when private insurance companies first sold policies to protect farmers against the effects of hail storms.
These crop-hail policies are still sold today by crop insurance companies and are regulated by individual state insurance departments.
In 2018, farmers spent $980 million on crop-hail insurance to protect $36 billion worth of crops.
In addition, farmers may also purchase Federal crop insurance, also known as multi-peril crop insurance, a risk management tool that protects against the loss of their crops due to natural disasters such as drought, freezes, floods, fire, insects, disease and wildlife, or the loss of revenue due to a decline in price.
