I am one of nine children born in Opello, AR, at the foot of Petit Jean Mountain. I graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Morrilton, AR where I lettered all four years in baseball. My life revolved around baseball. I feel so fortunate to have been able to spend some time in 1960 with the Colt 45's Camp, now known as the Houston Astro's. I was with them just long enough to find out that I wasn't quite good enough.
No discouragement there, though. I still am an avid fan of the game and absolutely love to watch my favorite teams, the Yankees, Dodgers and Cardinals. When I am not servicing my customers insurance needs or spending time with my family, you can catch me cheering on the Cabot High School baseball and football teams. This brings me to the real love of my life, my life partner, Carol Jim Hart.
She has been my solid rock foundation since 1964. Together, she and I have had four sons, all of which were tremendous athletes in their own right. I joined State Farm in 1967 and have enjoyed much success here.
