Our company is a mutual company, which means that it is owned by the policyholders. When the company started, the business was conducted out of the homes of the officers. Then in 1973, the company rented its first office space, which was located in downtown Butternut where they remained for 37 years. The company is staffed with two full time employees and one part-time employee.
We also have a Board of Directors which consists of nine members. Ashland County Town Insurance Co. can write coverage in six counties in Wisconsin. These counties are Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron, Price & Sawyer. The company offers homeowner and farmowner policies, including policies for seasonals, rentals, vacant properties and other risks. Our goal is to provide quality insurance to our policyholders and to extend this service to new members.
We have celebrated over 100 years of business and look forward to many more years.
