Shelby Crop Insurance was established in 1986 by George Vollmer.
In 1990 his son John joined the business, then in 2003 George's son Bob joined to fill his position as he proceeded into retirement.
After many years of the brothers working together on the farm and in the crop insurance business; John and Bob decided the time was right to begin incorporating the next generation.
Ashley (John's daughter) started in 2008, followed by his other daughter Tiffany in 2012, and Bob's son Adam joined the team in 2013.

We work with you to ensure that you have the right policy, the right coverage levels, and that you understand your policy and how it works for you so you can get paid during a loss.
We meet with you twice a year; once in the spring so you can report your acres and then again in the fall so you can report your production.
To ensure that your acreage reporting and production reporting are completed correctly and timely.

For a planted crop, when there is damage or loss of production, you must give us notice by unit, within 72 hours of your initial discovery of damage or loss of production.
For crops that have a revenue protection coverage, if there is no damage or loss of production, you must give us notice no later than 45 days after the harvest price is released for any crop in the unit where the revenue loss has occurred.
Failure to contact our office or your agent to report a timely loss could result in non-payment.
