I've been helping Oregonians since 2002 objectively evaluate and understand the ever-changing health insurance market. I work hard to understand all of the issues pertaining to purchasing health insurance in Oregon, then apply this knowledge to help you make a more informed buying decision. In the tabs to your left you will find detailed discussions of the various insurance products I represent.

If you would like to call me or schedule appointment please go to my Contact Info tab. In short, I provide the ability to help you go beyond the price and plan comparisons to understand the many provider networks available as you compare plans, and the tax implications of the ACA tax credits. Some companies offer 2 or even 3 different provider networks, so looking at plans can be confusing.

By asking the right questions I can help to narrow the many plan available down to one or two to consider. Tap my years of expert knowledge, experience, and insights at no cost to you. The insurance premiums include broker commissions, so if you enroll with my assistance (or through my application links) I am compensated if you list me as your broker.

One of the toughest part of evaluating insurance plans is understanding the provider network being offered and how to find those 'In Network' providers for your plan.
I will hopefully demystify this a little on this web page.
I'll share a little information first for each company relation to the Individual Health Plans (Not Medicare Advantage).
The In-network providers with Kaiser include all of the Kaiser providers in Oregon & the non-Kaiser, Portland Clinic offices across the Portland area such as the Portland Clinic.
In Oregon, Short-Term Medical (STM) insurance is a type of limited-benefit health insurance and is not subject to the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare regulations.
Generally, STM plans do not cover prescription drugs, preventative services, or pre-existing conditions.
Because of the limited plan duration the plans often cost up to half the cost of an ACA plan.
Take time to read the brochure to review the plan limitations and exclusion and be sure to read the 'Schedule of Benefits' after you enroll in a plan.
If you only get your teeth cleaned twice a year, it is usually less expensive to pay cash and not have dental insurance.
That said, major dental work can cost many thousands of dollars, especially if you need an implant of root canal and for many people dental insurance helps with these costs.
1. BESTONE DENTAL: The BestOne Choice plan will pay up to a $3000 or $5000 maximum benefit, and has no waiting period.
The plan has 2 national PPO Networks, or you can use any dentist willing to bill the plan.
