The following States' National Guard provides SSLI to their National Guard Associations, sponsorship of the Group Life Plans detailed in their websites. All military occupations are covered including pilots, parachutists, etc. All active National Guard members of the States' National Guard listed above are automatically provided with $1,000 of Group Term Life Coverage under the Militia Guardian Group Term Life Insurance Plan at no cost to the National Guard member, paid for by the Militia Insurance Trust.

The Welcome Home Bill provides each member of The Massachusetts National Guard an option to have SGLI or any of the six sponsored SSLI Group Life Plans premium reimbursed up to $14.00 per month or $168.00 yearly. Your representative can provide the most precise explanations of these products and services, and recommend which are best for you.

The SSLI Group Life Insurance Plans detailed in this website are provided under group life Insurance policies issued to the Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA), The Militia Insurance Trust (MIT), and the Uniformed Services Benefit Association (USBA).
MIT was established in 1991 to pool the resources of several National Guard Associations to provide quality group life insurance for National Guard members and their families.
The Participating National Guard Associations listed on the Home Page are participating associations in the Militia Insurance Trust.
Provides basic group life insurance plan to guard members, lawful spouses and dependant children.
MBA was founded by military personnel to help secure the financial future of military families.
You are eligible to apply if on your coverage effective date, you are under age 69 and a member of the National Guard and/or a member of the National Guard Association.
USBA offers Group Life Insurance to Guard Members, lawfully married spouses and dependent children.
As an affordable alternative to VGLI, USBA's plans are portable even after leaving the service and through all civilian job changes.
All active members under age 60, of participating National Guard Associations who are active or associate* members of the National Guard Associations are eligible to apply for coverage.
You may also apply for life insurance for all eligible dependents.
Eligible dependents include your lawful spouse under age 60 and unmarried, dependent children from 15 days through age 25.
A dependent who is a member can only apply for coverage as a member.
If both parents are insured as members, only one may request child coverage.
