Services
Blackmer Insurance Agency was founded in 1934 in Shelburne, Massachusetts as the Ralph E. Blackmer Insurance Agency, by Ralph Blackmer as a part-time agency specializing in insurance for Grange members.
The business grew and in 1944 Mr. Blackmer was working full-time and added several other insurance companies and new products.
Since that time the agency has grown and now works with more than a dozen insurers on a regular basis.
Today, we continue as a local insurance agency dedicated to serving individuals, families and businesses in Franklin County and beyond, but with a few differences: We are pleased to be a member of Renaissance Alliance, a partnership that affords us access to dozens of premier insurance companies, allowing us to scan the market for the best insurance products and services at the best price for you, our customers.
A boat is a great way to get away from the stresses and deadlines of the shore.
Here at Blackmer Insurance Agency, we want to make sure that being out on the water is as stress free as possible for Massachusetts boaters.
It is a common misconception that your boat or personal watercraft is covered under your home insurance policy.
A separate policy is needed to ensure your boat is receiving the appropriate coverage.
Before hitting the waters, watercraft insurance is a necessary investment.

Even if your off road vehicle is simply a toy, insurance is important.
When purchasing an off road vehicle policy, it is also important to keep in mind what kinds of activities you will be using the vehicle for.
Recreational vehicle insurance may function similarly to car insurance, but it is specialized for RVs.
